Windows Physical Server Migration

To convert a physical server to a virtual machine, VMware® vCenter Converter Standalone must be installed.

After installation, launch the application and click "Convert machine".

Specify the type of machine to be converted: "Powered on", "This local machine":

Specify the destination type "VMware Workstation or other VMware virtual machine":

Unplug all network adapters by removing the checkmark in the "Connect at power-on" column to avoid network problems:

The resulting machine should be opened with VMware Workstation Pro and exported to OVF (see article)
