Catalogue creation and management

Creating directories, selecting placement of directories

Cloud4Y offers virtual infrastructure placement services in multiple data centres simultaneously. Read more about the benefits in the article

You need to know the internal names of the Data Centres:

DATA CENTRE 1 - M41

DATA CENTRE 2 - K41

We strongly recommend that you read the article on determining which data centre your organisation's infrastructure is located in!

To create a directory using the new (HTML5) interface, open a menu and click on Libraries:

Next, you will find the Catalogs section:

click New

You will see the wizard for creating a catalog

If you are co-locating in a data centre, all you need to do is enter a directory name and (optionally) a description. Click OK to create the Catalog. If you are taking full advantage of multi-site deployment, you must choose to deploy the catalogue in the same data centre where it will be used, otherwise it will take a long time to deploy the templates:

You can also change the location of existing catalogs (e.g. those created before the move to multiple data centres). To do this, open the list of catalogs and select the Catalogs menu:

click Storage Policies

select where to store catalog

Then it will be the same, only for the old (Flash) interface:

TTo create a catalog, right-click and select Add Catalog:

This will open a wizard to create the catalog. The first step is to specify the name and (optional) description of the catalog:

Next - Select a storage location. If you are using a single data centre, click Next, but if you are taking advantage of multiple data centres, it is recommended that you select where exactly the created directory will be placed:

To change the location of a previously created catalogue, right-click on the catalogue and select Properties:

Select the Storage tab and then change the placement:
