Configuring the clipboard and file transfer between the Horizon client and Remote Desktop

  1. Clipboard setup

By default, the clipboard works in one direction — from Horizon Client to VDI Remote Desktop. To enable bidirectional exchange, you need to do the following:

  • On the remote desktop in the Start panel, find and launch the Windows Command line with Administrator rights

  • In the Command line start regedit
  • Add the following parameter to the Windows Registry: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Teradici\PCoIP\pcoip_admin\pcoip.server_clipboard_state DWORD with value 1

  • Re-start the client

2. File sharing setup

File sharing is done by providing remote desktop access to individual directories on a PC running the Horizon client. To provide directory access do the following:

  • In the connection properties choose Options->Share Folders

  • In the window that opens click Add, select the directory to which you want to provide access and click Ok

  • The selected directory should be listed as a folder in the Explorer on the remote desktop
